Coronavirus was present in US earlier than initially thought: CDC scientists

Recommended Posts

I knew it. I was never as sick as I was in my life in January. Had all the Covid symptoms. I couldn’t sleep flat in bed for a month. Had spiked fever and no taste and smell.

Coronavirus was present in US earlier than initially thought: CDC scientists

The coronavirus was in the U.S. as early as mid-December 2019, a period earlier than officially identified in either China or the U.S., according to new research from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The study, published Monday, found evidence of the virus in 106 of 7,389 blood donations to the Red Cross in nine states.

These donations were collected between Dec. 13, 2019, and Jan. 17, 2020, with the Red Cross later submitting them to the CDC to test for antibodies.

Antibodies were detected in 39 samples on the West Coast in Washington, Oregon and California, all of them collected between Dec. 13 and 16. Antibodies were detected in another 67 samples in Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Rhode Island and Wisconsin. Those samples were collected between Dec. 30 and Jan. 17.

Researchers said the antibodies were specific to COVID-19 and that they had ruled out other coronaviruses. COVID-19-specific antibodies were detected in 84 of 90 samples tested.

“The findings of this report suggest that SARS-CoV-2 infections may have been present in the U.S. in December 2019, earlier than previously recognized,” the researchers wrote.

FACTS:timeline

After  Trump in January declared a “humanitarian and security crisis" during a  primetime Oval Office address, Sen. Chuck Schumer, speaking beside  House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said Trump was working to “manufacture a  crisis, stoke fear and divert attention from the turmoil in his  administration." Party leader Tom Perez also called it “manufactured.”  Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., described it as a "'crisis' that  doesn't exist."

Sen. Elizabeth Warren tweeted at the time that "we're not falling" for the "fake crisis."

On January 29, 2020 Joe Biden in a speech in Iowa said that Trump's idea of restricting travel from China was "Xenophobic".

, WHO calls corona virus a healthcare emergency.

February  2 - New York City Health Commissioner Dr. Oxiris Barbot, “The risk to  New Yorkers for Coronavirus is low and our preparedness as a city is  very high. There is no rJanuary 30eason not to take the subway, not to take the  bus, not to go out to your favorite restaurant, and certainly not to  miss the parade next Sunday. I’m going to be there.”

Not one of those you listed had the briefings Trump had.

TRUMP FAILED. THE VOTERS SAW THIS. TIC TOC HES GOING TO JAIL.

Instant defense of liberal hypocrisy noted.

So, too, was the sainted Dr. Anthony Fauci playing down the seriousness of the virus. In late January, he told the public that “This is not something that the citizens of the United States right now should be worried about.” If Trump is somehow guilty of negligence, what does that say about the health expert everyone is now turning to for advice?

I was at the RSA conference in February.  Everyone thought I was crazy for not going to the normal parties I'd go to, for being crazy about wiping down my computer after using it for demos, sanitizing my hands...  I was one of two people on my flight wearing a mask.  People looked at me like I was nuts as they boarded (I board first)... then about a third of my team got knocked out of commission for two weeks with crazy fevers, body aches, etc.  A few people in my extended network died.

It was certainly prevalent in San Francisco in February, right around the time Nancy was urging people to visit Chinatown and calling Trump a racist.

Notice the left has always continually refused to admit what their own party mouthpieces were saying in the beginning? It cracks me everytime. It’s always crickets. Put those blinders back on.
