The Oklahoma city bomb was 2 tons of ammonium nitrate.   They are claiming this one was 2750 tons.   Holy fuck balls.

I believe tannerite is just ammonium nitrate and it’s crazy just what a little container of it can do

Well not just.   I don't believe shooting a bag of ammonium nitrate will cause an explosion.

In the patented recipe for Tannerite, the fuel is aluminum powder with some titanium. The oxidizer is a mixture of ammonium nitrate and ammonium perchlorate, the key part being the “ate” on the ends of those words. That means they contain oxygen, in this case bound to nitrogen and chlorine atoms respectively.

Well yes it still needs a primer. The old school was was diesel. And even after that it needs a high impact energy source to start the reaction

but the primary ingredient is ammonium nitrate. Shit used to be on every farm.

Use to be?   Hell I put down about 800 lbs of it on food plots every year.

Still not sure just mixing diesel will make it explode with high velocity rounds.

We can’t get it any more and it volatilzes bad anyway

it takes a blasting cap to start it

No evidence at this point to suggest it was anything other than an accident....unless you are The President.🤣

Yes but it doesn’t become a nitrate until it’s applied to soil and urease bacteria convert the ammonium into nitrate
