Ya,that’s what’s stopping me. Nothing close enough to do after work during the week. The weekends are shit shows, most of my friends have sold theirs and won’t get another until they are retired.

that's where im at with them.

A friend retired a few years ago and used to go to their lake house every weekend in the summer. He was talking about selling his regular house and living in the lake house. Now he heads up to the lake house on Monday morning and comes back Thursday morning. He hates being up there on the weekends. It’s even worse this year he said. He has owned the place for 30 years.

zactly,  to keep the feds from regulating them if i recall correctly as they were getting out of hand.  50's slow as hell on one but anything much over 70 can get sketchy

It is more than that. When you fall water skiing at 35 mph it gives you a pretty good hit, fall at 75mph and you have a chance of becoming a bag of broken bones.  Hit the water wrong at speeds above 70 the wrong way and you could certainly die.  Plus most are just wearing water ski jackets which are not rated for impacts above 50 mph. The jacket I had for racing was rated for 100 mph and with that had straps that buckled around your legs so the jacket could not be pulled off. A pair of kevlar shorts were also available that cinched below your knee and buckled to the jacket to keep your legs attached in a impact with the water.

Like snowmobile trails on the weekend, fuck that!

Boats on the river same thing.

Retards come out on the weekends.

All I have now is that small fishing boat, and I hate trailering that and hoping there's a fukkin parking spot. Ramping in and ramping out

has become almost not worth the bullshit.

Only way to boat is to walk out the door onto the dock. Anything less and you're basically a boat nigga. Hey, it's the troof!

Sleepr2, nice to see some "streams".  Is the second one a HST?  I see the lower unit is set up to top speed.

I also had a couple and spent quite a bit of time around other owners.  The addiction to speed was only part of the camaraderie.  The look grew on you too.  My god, some were finicky.  Throw a rookie behind the wheel and it was bow hop heaven.

You guys talk about the weekends.  I spent nearly every available day on the water during those days.  Weekends were a waste of time if you wanted to do anything serious.  It was all about cruising and looking with a quick speed show once and awhile.  Midweek mornings was when the real stuff happened.  Good water before sundown was fun, but you had to watch for the floaters.  The bottoms of the lakes must be a regular junkyard based on the amount of cans and bottles I saw bobbing on a busy day.

With notice, me and the wife can be on the river 15 minutes after I land home, and that includes changing clothes. It's awesome.

That just hull design

I got the same hull as my bud's 155 horse and I kill him at any speed. My 215 will rip to 60 like a bomb, then fights to 67. Got close here...

I really don't enjoy anything over 55 or so. Would trade even for a GTS-X 155 any day of the week.

Bought this checkmate starflite about 6 weeks ago thinking I’d be laid off all summer. Got called back to work early but I’ve been having a blast with the boat. Burned about 100 gallons of gas through it so far.

and what do you use as a baseline?

the wave action is totally different than on most lakes and your flying off a lot of them.  .    sure some big lakes are similar but around here the ocean is much bigger than the lakes
