My parents have some on their farm. Yes, they will clean up the ticks along with other bugs. They also eat mice and snakes. They won’t take down a snake alone but in a flock they will.

They can be loud but as a general rule they only make loud noises for a short period. They will also make loud noises if they are startled of course.

They are less tame than chickens so they will probably wander a bit so that may or may not be a problem depending on how understanding your neighbors are and how much room they have to roam.

The fox up there will kill them off real fast. I'd rather spray the yard with bug b gone  occasionally than tip toe around guinea shit.

Yah I had one. It was really loud and never shut up. It would sit on top of the machine shed and yell at everything that moved.

lol so prob not for the cabin but I still think I am going to dump a dozen at the build site . no neighbors for  1/4 mile and they won't make the winter any way and foxes need a change in diet from time to time

Awesome creatures for pest control! They are ugly as fuck and yes, very vocal.

Great  description. Mine spend most of their time in the woods, I hear them when one goes off and they all chuckle for a minute then back to killing critters.

The coyotes should take care of them soon enough.
