Bernies Socialist Background

I'd say that a socialist should, at a bare minimum, advocate for worker ownership of the means of production.

Worker ownership of the means of production is the foundation of socialism.

So if you hire someone to cut your grass, they own a part of your home?

I had a small grey market extraction company, and I paid my only worker $300/day.

So there's that...

It takes something you didn't have to get it done, so you needed someone who had it.

Now you and the ilk think it belongs to you.

All talk no action.

and well they should,  they are far more at risk than the workers.  Given the business type they prob have a big chunk of their personal net worth on the line by guaranteeing the companies leases and suppliers.

Hey tell that to Moto, he's the one that was all against it before it filled his wallet

Shouldn’t everyone involved in that business pool all their assets and divide them equally?

oh i agree he's retarded with the stolen the value of their labor argument. Labor only has x value,  it's worth no more than what someones willing to pay,  if it was worth more someone else would pay more and drive up the price.

Labor makes everything. All value addition is performed at some point by labor.

Even robots that replace manual labor are made by labor.

Nothing outside of the natural world would exist without labor. Labor precedes capital, and is therefore superior to capital.

Capital merely represents the reassignment of the value of someone else's labor unto someone else who didn't perform any.

You see people describe the above as 'socialism', when really it's capitalism that takes things someone earned and gives them to someone else.

I like capitalism and I also like being the dictator of my capitalist company. Zero democracy just capitalistic fascism. And believe it or not the employees like it better that way too.

Of course they do. They want to be led by someone they think is smarter than them and someone who will make good decision for the company.

When given the opportunity most people would rather be led than be the leader.

I worked on crews from 10 to 300 employees for 35 years. It was always hard to find someone who really wanted to step up and be responsible for the decisions that they made.

Yep, ultimately someone has to step up and take responsibility and not alot of people really want to do that. They like to take credit for the good stuff but not responsibility for the other stuff.

Yup. There always has to be a leader because people need to be led. And anyone that has the responsibility of making decisions will need to have greater compensation for their time to make it worth it.

And you do own your labour in capitalism. You can choose where you work and who your sell your labour too. And if you want your labour to be worth more you can increase your skills to make your labour more valuable

in communism you own your labour too but the value of that labour is basically zero.

Moto sees no value in that.

A union environment could never exist if people didn't want to be led around

Absolutely 100% correct. I took my first full time leadership position in my 3rd year of employment with BP. I passed on several promotions but took a few too. I was very blessed but did dedicate everything to my work when I was on shift.
