dam nice warming shacks

Some of them are like cabins up here.. the local club does an amazing job. And the community really donates a lot. The trails here have become a really popular sledding destination

good times. He’ll remember it years from now. Still remember my first ride on a “68 scorpion mk 1. My dad and brother in law pulled it out of the crate and assembled it. We were riding that afternoon.

My 7 year old has been after me to take him to the shack that’s closest to our house. It’s about 15 miles away. By the time we got there he didn’t want to stop. So we ended up stopping at three shacks and did around 65 miles by the time we got home. He can’t wait to go again. Was a nice little afternoon

most of the time they are just out checking for registration in my parts and I am all for that.

the sled cops/boat/atv cops in my parts, are not to bad but then we know them pretty well. but few, weeks back one pulls up to shelter walked in and just shook his head and gave a lol and was like wtf guys think you could open a window so people just walking in might have a chance at passing a mandatory piss test .

Nice! :bc:

I remember my son's first trail ride when he was 12. I was nervous as F--- but he did great. Made a big difference taking him mid week rather than on a weekend.

No age limit out there for sledding? Have to be 12 here and have to do the course and get licensed.

Oh I’m sure there is. But nobody would care here except cops

i bought my son his first trail sled for his 8th bday,  we require them to pass a class to ride alone but not under supervision but you can't get the safety card till 12.  My son actually took the class at 8 since i was an instructor.   First time we go out trail riding he's following me and then i lose site of him as we were riding through a campground which can get a little confusing.  finally find him upside down in the ditch,  he missed a turn and went to turn around and rolled it.

Even a decade later I got nervous with him behind me.  Last 2 times we rode was midweek which is so much nicer.

My son had no trouble at all, thankfully, but when I purchased him a 90 cc Eton Viper atv when he was 7-8 and took him trail riding, he rolled that one kind of. Like you, he was riding behind me and when I turned around, I seen the atv on its side with him pinned by it. It was a lazy rollover, thankfully, but my heart skipped a beat when I seen the atv on its side!

When I took him for his 1st sled trail ride, I had mirrors on my Vector so I could keep an eye on him. He was experienced, and 12 like I mentioned, so it wasn't as bad as when he was younger but being on the trails with the possibility encountering someone else made me extremely cautious that day.
