Why is your per capita debt so much higher?

Why do Canadians have a higher net worth?

Well there was a multi page argument about shooting statistics and the ones who wanted to believe one way didnt subscribe to the per capita statistics... So we should decide which statistics are to be used... :news:

That nasty allergy to facts troubling you?

you too. Canada's marginal and practical tax rates are higher across the spectrum. Even worse when you factor in combined state/provincial rates.

Now go sit in the sandbox with fail.

You spelled net debt wrong.

I spelled net worth right.  50% of Canadians have a higher net worth than 70% of Americans. That should put to bed any thoughts that Ronnie Reagan's trickle down theory worked. Perhaps it was a euphemism for the rich pissing on the poor.

Yet somehow we are worth more than Americans. Our tax system would have to be higher.  Take our land mass vs population and any person with a modicum of common sense could see that we will have higher expenses. Therefore our taxes would naturally be higher.

Those charts don't take into account RRSP contributions will reduce your taxes and TSFA's will too.

Per capita or per household makes sense if you are talking about how if affects people.

There is also a huge difference if you talk about Average net worth vs median net worth.

That shift happened in the past 15 years.

If Canada's system is so great why do they come here to get the work done?

I hear this from my parents down in Florida, snowbird Canadians tell them about this.

Money talks.

I wonder how many Canadians who rave about our healthcare system wouldn't use the US system for a loved one for say a critical MRI when the wait here is over 4 months?

How many Americans without money or a health plan can get an MRI or afford treatment or the drugs?

Anyone with a decent job has healthcare. It’s not as rare as you think.

No, it's not having HC that is quite rare. Usually non union younger construction workers. A lot of chump change job employees don't have coverage but qualify for Medicaid.

Do they have to come up with the money for the deductible before treatment?

How does that work and what is the average deductible?
