Those that vote against there own best interests, you have to laugh at the stupidity of say a union truck driver who makes 80K plus another 70K in bennies and then bitches about 2K in union dues annually..... all this when he could make 50K and have Obamacare insurance working non-union.

But hey man I ain't got to pay union dues

So true. If not for the UPS unions drivers would be making FedEx or Amazon delivery wages.

This ain’t the 1920’s anymore man

No kidding. Just showing everything Unions have done for people over the years and why we currently have them. Thankfully, times have changed for the better in NA but it wouldn't surprise me one bit, if unions were abolished, we'd go back to some of those things without them.

Like I said, I've seen the other side and it isn't pretty. Wrongful dismissals, unsafe/unfair work practices. Layoffs because you aren't Italian or Portuguese or another nationality.  The list goes on.............

Bad attitudes need to be a recognized reason to fire someone

I'm not anti-union per say however I just think people should have a choice on whether or not to join them.  Unions have done some great things in this country however they also have done some things that weren't.   I'm much more against public sector unions than anything else.

anyone not against public sector unions has to be on the tit,  zero reason for them

Even a socialist like FDR recognized the dangers of public unions.

Not a fan of public unions.

Fuck this forced to join shit, no one is forcing you to get a job somewhere with a union. Get a job somewhere else if you dont want to join.

That said, I haven't been in a union in 10 yrs. But they certainly could "clean up" the way they do business.....

That's not the point when you are forced to join a union as part of employment is it?

I think the majority of us on here are too young to know/remember what it was like before unions came along. Are unions perfect, of course not, but then again not all are the same.

I've been pro union and will continue to support them as I've seen what it's like to be a worker without a union or union support.

It's a slippery slope and their removal/disbanding will only take us backwards, not forwards.

that pic is only true for low skill work.
