we would never hear about it in the private sector.

I really don't care he took his family to a hot island for Christmas - sorry wouldn't care which PM did it.

You do like the quiet never answer questions types, banning media from asking questions,  a full Donny supporter

Bold - who is smart in your world?  Andrew ( of course he is the best ever) :dunno:

ONEWAY

You're right for a change. In the private sector you wouldn't here about it. The person would like Revrnd said be terminated with cause. They would be quietly escorted to their desk where they would pack up their personal property and escorted out of the building, no severance, no notice, just gone.

Perhaps you don't see a problem with someone accepting gifts from those they have a business relationship with because you do it regularly yourself?

It takes a true dope to not realize that accepting free vacations from Aga Khan would be a conflict of interest. Perhaps you don't see anything wrong with that because you and Trudope are birds of a feather. What kind of freebies do you get from those you do business with?

seems to be a rare bipartisan vote on this - thanks for the link

I guess if you want government money you have to follow the Rights and Freedoms act

Following the rules is one thing. Being forced to say you agree with something that goes against your religious beliefs is totally another. What ever happened to separating religion and state.

Like I have been saying all along. Smoke and mirrors. Hey everybody... look what we did. We dropped the income tax rate from 22% to 20.5% on the first $40K. Bow down and kiss our feet so we can take even more money out of your back pocket while you aren't looking and not really tell you about that hoping you don't notice that in the end you are paying more. Stay focussed on that 20.5%, stay focused now, don't look at anything else.

Its called the charter of Rights and Freedoms and it has nothing to do with Religion

Why are you so worried about a non-profit org. getting 100% free employee on your dime.  Seems this goes against everything you stand for.  Oh but its Liberals in charge so you complain at every turn.

So it looks like your anti-abortion organizations you like so much won't be getting any money from the tax payers

I won't be losing sleep over this

You are such a lying turd.

You went on for months about how bad Harper was.  Duffies expenses and how bad Harper was.  All you typical Fail one way bullshit.

Now you defend your heartthrob Justin to no end.

Maybe put up a couple selfies Justin sent you and that will make the world right.

As for your comment earlier Fail that the women asking Trudeau about committing a crime not knowing any of the facts how could she?  The taxpayers have gotten nothing lies from Trudeau.  the Trudeau worked with ethics commissioner bullshit for months.

What we the taxpayers should have gotten right from the start was a full outline of all the trips, the itinerary, who was there and what the meetings and discussions they had were about.

Would that be something I would request normally of a travelling PM or high level government official?  no.  But once Trudeau committed an ethics breach as he knew he did a year ago the taxpayers should have gotten full disclosure immediately.  Justin hiding it only proves his guilt and the complete disregard for the public he represent and the standards and procedures of Canadian government position he holds.

Justin Trudeau is an elected official who thinks he is a dictator.  Kinda like The communist dictators he idolizes.

Yes Harper changed for the worst in the last 2 years of his Office.  I have said this many times.  We never had a Harper Thread on here and rarely spoke about him until the election came close and he started with his be afraid of the bearded man stuff.

I will tire of Trudeau one day,  just not really yet

Canada economy up, Canada's direction is better,  I am okay with this for the next while

interesting numbers - the range of 78-110 thousand in income seems to fit the FRASER bill very well

counting a rise in CPP as a tax is laughable.  if you are 20 years old to day by the time these people retire $12000 a year CPP pension is not going to be worth much.  It has to be increased or the elderly will be in trouble 30 years from now.

This accounts for most of what they are babbling about.

FRASER is the KING of ONEWAY no doubts about that, and their pusher THE SUN is second to them

We don't have long to wait to see if any of this plays out - stay tuned

You never really understand much do you Fail.... what else is new.

It has a lot to do with religion. Many religions and therefore people don't believe in abortion or LGBTQ. That is their right under that charter of Rights and Freedoms you referred to.

More stupidity... it is a subsidy to assist employers who may not otherwise hire a summer student do so. The focus is to create summer jobs for students. It's not 100% free employees as your deluded mind believes.

It's not about non-profit. Any employer profit included that does not tick the box saying they support abortion and LGBTQ becomes ineligible. I used to hire a summer student each year. We didn't need one but did it to help a student get a summer job and experience. The subsidy made it an affordable and justifiable expense. We were a for profit business.

So now the guy who owns a small business who would normally hire a student with the subsidy maybe can't especially at $14/hr because his personal beliefs don't support abortion or LGBTQ. It could be the restaurant you go to, the marina where you get gas or even where you get service work done on your toys... oh I forgot... you use the backyard mechanic  rather than a legitimate business operator that actually pays taxes.

You're so cheap you probably get boat gas in jerry cans and fill the boat with them rather than pay the marina operator trying to make a living... ooops I forgot.... small business owners are all independently wealthy in your dream world.

It's not serving all Canadians... just the ones that sing from the mandated song book.

It ain't worth shit today either and even with the increase it still won't be 30 years from now.  All you are doing is giving the government your money and they give some of it back to you, sounds like a tax to me.

sorry 02ool

non-profit can receive 100% of the employees pay, for-profit can receive 50% of the employees pay.

Your personal belief's have nothing to do with this,  Your business does

Where under The Right and Freedoms does it state you get money :dunno:   if you are an anti-abortion business you don't get free employment,  seems just like many other businesses that wouldn't qualify for the grant for 100's of reasons.

question 02ool - who do you think this grant system is suppose to benefit?  an employee or the employer?

Sounds like a tax to me as well. The useless amount of CPP you get to collect is exactly that useless. I would have preferred by far putting the money they took out of my paycheque into an investment of my own. I would be a lot better off financially, especially if I was able to invest the employer CPP contribution as well. A PM in touch with the common man would perhaps give you the choice of opting out of CPP and making a locked in investment of your own... something like a LIRA

More lack of comprehension on your part as usual. I already said it's to assist the employer in giving the beneficiary, a summer student a job. The beneficiary is the student by having a job many would not have otherwise.

Have you ever calculated what you would have if you contributed the same amounts to the CPP over a lifetime with a 7.5% return.  I use 7.5% cause that is what DB company pensions are on the hook for.  Do this then tell me the $12000/yr is a good thing.

I thought you were a top earner making $50K?

I paid into it with MY MONEY.... I will not get back close to what I would have if I had been able to keep MY MONEY and invest MY MONEY myself. The day you die the money you put in disappears and the payments stop. If you calculate what you will collect starting at 60 versus starting at 65 it will take until you are 75 to reach the break even point. That doesn't account for accrued earnings on the early collection. So yes I do collect MY MONEY THAT I WAS FORCED TO GIVE THE GOVERNMENT THAT I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED NOT TO.

In fact I do add more to our investments than CPP gives me each year. I also make substantial charitable donations annually.

Lets see what you do when you hit 60.... show us where you donate it. Do you tick that box on your income tax that you want to donate your refund to pay down the debt. Something tells me you donate squat to anyone... you're too cheap.

doens't matter how many people make a that wage, doesn't change the fact its not much to live on

using rule of 72 would be 10 years to double your money.  at this point in time if you have paid in for the last 30 years at top level it would be around 45k maybe a bit more.

Easily 10-12 year payback from age 65

Calculating the rates of today might be different since its up 2500 a year now

You're right it isn't much to live on but you Failed to get the point. Had you put the same amount of money in an investment of your own rather than give it to the government you would have A LOT MORE THAN THAT TO LIVE ON.

you are pretty naive to assume people have the disciplined of financial ability to do this for 40 years without fail.

You think a teen is going to start saving for old bitterness man time :dunno:  I guess you really don't understand why we have CPP in the first place

No it's not much to live on.

Also the government isn't giving us back 7.2%, I would embrace that.  You are getting nothing on your CPP contributions, that is the main problem and when we kick the bucket, we don't get the balance of what we put in.

No, they were hoping the Federal government would do it for them.  But the reality is the average person who invests can't even beat inflation and the government isn't doing any better.

You really don't get it... give them a choice... CPP or automated transfers to a locked in retirement account. You don't do the personal account and you are then forced into CPP.  Your employer in most cases pays electronically directly to your bank account. Add one more automated transfer where a % is paid to a retirement account instead of CPP. Very doable. If at the end of the year when filing your taxes you don't have a receipt for a contribution to a retirement account that is equal to or more than you would have put into CPP that amount becomes owing to CRA just like income taxes owing.
