A step closer to Sharia law in Canada if this were to happen. Albeit a small step but a step non the less.

http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/plan-for-muslim-only-suburb-in-montreal-is-discrimination-quebec-premier-says

A Brossard (Montreal) neighbourhood for Muslims or those willing to live by their values.

What he has heard are people who have been renting for 30 years and wish they had something to show for all the money. Although views differ about what Shariah law dictates for Muslims living in a society where mortgages are the norm, many refuse to take out loans that charge interest. “A lot of Muslims have problems with the idea of interest, which in Arabic is called riba,” Warda said. “That means if you pay more than you were loaned, you are doing something that is very, very, very, very bad from the Muslim point of view.”

He said non-Muslims would be welcome to move into his project of prefabricated homes, but they would have to share the values of their Muslim neighbours. “You don’t drive drunk on the street. If you want to drink alcohol, you drink it in your house,” he said. Women could choose whether to wear the headscarf but they could not walk around in a halter-top and shorts. “There must be some modesty in the way you dress. We don’t want women living there going half-naked down the streets. We don’t like that,” he said. “If they want to do that, let them go and live in downtown Montreal.”

I guess you were too busy posting up stupid chain mail to realize this was just posted already in this thread.  Oh extrabaconbits just gave you a beating

They sure as hell shop for health care in the U.S. TOTALLY WRONG AGAIN FAIL. There are Liberals and Conservatives on both sides of the border. :lol2:

He obviously like you missed the last line.... I had a good laugh.... the only ones upset will be the Liberal minded people. :lol2:

If a Conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh. A Liberal will delete it because he's "offended."

Everyone should have health care and I know you think so too.  And noone shops for this, they go to the nearest hospital or doctor.  There are no special deals to be found.

I think extrabaconbits said it right (although he is a bit of a crack pot)

Damn Fail. Have you ever I mean ever traveled. Like I said they shop for healthcare in the U.S. Matter of fact lots of people shop for healthcare in Ontario as well. In the US they have a countless number of healthcare insurance coverage providers that people indeed shop for. They all have varying policies, limits, deductibles and more. Two of my US customers were Liberty Health and Dignity Health. Both healthcare insurance providers. Some of those healthcare insurers want you to go to specific healthcare providers.

While people in Ontario have OHIP lots of people who are either employed, unemployed or retired don't have supplemental healthcare coverage for what OHIP doesn't cover so yes they SHOP around for healthcare. The monthly premiums and coverages vary significantly.

In an emergency you are right they will go to the nearest hospital in Canada but lots of people shop around for a doctor. When my family doctor of almost 40 years retired I "shopped" around until I found a doctor I felt comfortable and confident with. I needed to see a specialist a while ago... my family doctor had a choice of who to send me to. He recommended one in particular based on his reputation over the others. That could be considered shopping around as well.

How can any one person be SO WRONG SO OFTEN FAIL.

If the media didn't scare helicopter parents into thinking there's a child molester behind every tree, maybe kids would get to play outside.

The culture of driving kids to & from to school is ridiculous. The side street across the nearest school to me had cars parked on both sides @ 3 PM w/ parents waiting to pick up the rug rats. I went to the same school & we since most families @ the time, you were lucky if you got the occasional ride.

Helicopter parents in Ontario send there kids to private or French immersion schools.  So coddle away.

Cuba has been our friend for a very long time, many Canadians travel there every year, so what is the problem? Castro hates American's like many countries around the world, the same can't be said about us.  You seem to wish this though.

Well we have had a seat on the council since the beginning until Harper got us kicked off,  I know for you this was a proud moment in our History but really it was a sad moment.  I can just hear you if it was JT getting kicked off     Stop with your Harper is the greatest and never did wrong.

AS for Natives (like you really care all of a sudden)

OTTAWA—The federal government will provide $69 million over the next three years for indigenous mental health services, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Monday after meeting a delegation of more than 20 aboriginal youth from northern Ontario.

The funding is designed to help communities tackle urgent mental health needs while the government works with indigenous leaders to negotiate a new health accord, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.

A detailed breakdown of the new spending was not immediately available.

The money is intended to provide services including four crisis response teams in Ontario, Manitoba and Nunavut — identified as having the greatest need — as well as 32 additional mental wellness teams.

Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould, Status of Women Minister Patricia Hajdu, and Indigenous Affairs Minister Carolyn Bennett held a news conference on Parliament Hill hours later launching the first phase of an inquiry.

The ministers said they would start by meeting families of missing and murdered women this week.

Lifting 2% cap on education

Trudeau also said his government would make significant investments in education and lift the two per cent cap on funding for First Nations programs, beginning with the first budget of 2016.

"As you know, that limit has been in place for nearly 20 years," Trudeau said. "It hasn't kept up with the demographic realities of your communities, nor the actual costs of program delivery.

"It's time for a new fiscal relationship with First Nations that gives your communities sufficient, predictable and sustained funding."

  • Launch a national public inquiry into missing and murdered indigenous women.
  • Make significant investments in First Nations education.
  • Lift the two per cent cap on funding for First Nations programs.
  • Implement all 94 recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
  • Repeal all legislation unilaterally imposed on indigenous people by the previous government.

"These are just five of the commitments we've made as part of our efforts to repair this most important relationship," Trudeau said in the address to First Nations leaders on Tuesday.

Compared to the last 10 years JT has done 10 times already but I doubt you will see this

That is correct FRIEND - will you be bashing Trump for getting cozy with Russia?  you know the giant that was friendly with cuba?  no you will not.

1 million Canadians travel to Cuba every year which adds up to near 50% of all tourism for Cuba - We go there because it hadn't been invaded by USA yet and is really a nice country.

You need some history lessons - Friends long before Trudeau senior was around

Canada-Cuba relations can be traced back to the 18th century, when vessels from the Atlantic provinces of Canada traded codfish and beer for rum and sugar. Cuba was the first country in the Caribbean selected by Canada to locate a diplomatic mission and official diplomatic relations were established in 1945, when Emile Vaillancourt, a noted writer and historian, was designated Canada’s representative in Cuba. Canada and Mexico were the only two countries in the hemisphere not to break relations with Cuba in the years that followed the Cuban revolution in 1959.

Our Trade is near 1 billion dollars yearly between cuba and Canada and has been this way for decades.  Ontario is the largest exporter to Cuba, another benefit (150 million).  Wheat is Canada’s largest export product to Cuba. Wheat sales were worth $57 million

Exports increased under Harper and continue to increase

Trump should continue to make gains with Russia and Cuba and any other country for that matter.

My point is Canadians go to Cuba cause it is the cheapest place on the planet you can go to.  Heck, you can't even stay in your own province for less.

Friends?  How are the human rights violations going?  Is JT condemning them or turning a blind eye?

Did JT take selfies with the locals?  Ask them how there doing?

The only things I care about are the economy and financial health of the country, the rest is feel good fluff.  It will take a PM with balls to fix the issue with FN, and the current one is rather light in the loafers.

Free health care and many other things - who fucking cares they are not beating people in the streets like china and Russia do :dunno:

and there are plenty of cheap places to travel too PLENTY.

Is JT turning a blind eye  fuck didn't you read what I posted?  well over 100 years Canada has been friends with this nation  - I know Harper didn't exactly make new friends in Cuba but than again that seem consistent world wide.  But Harper did meet with Castro I remember this because of the outrage posted here about Harper hugging commies

“I have become convinced that a different approach is appropriate at this point in time,” Mr. Harper said Saturday after a private meeting with Mr. Castro at the Summit of the Americas in Panama City. “We’re at the point where an engagement is more likely to lead us to where we want to go than continued isolation.”

During the their conversation, Harper said he and Castro discussed the long-running relationship between their countries — on political, tourism and commercial levels.

The prime minister, who also noted how Canada helped facilitate the December deal between the U.S. and Cuba to work toward normalizing their diplomatic relations, gave little additional information about his own chat with Castro or how long it lasted.

"We had a good and long discussion with the president," said Harper, who had never met Castro.

JT is good for Canada - he has done nothing to hurt Canada YET

We will see what happens soon because there is going to be plenty of new shit coming up with President Trump at the helm.  Smooth ride isn't going to be apart of the next 4 years

As if that's ever going to happen. Truedope is too busy playing and having fun. If I recall he wanted to if he hasn't already reduce the oversight of where the money is being spent.

Not sure what exactly he accomplished going to Cuba other than a government paid trip to the sun. It seems one of the biggies wa talking to students at the university in Havana.

He was disappointed at not getting to meet with his fathers buddy Fidel. You have to wonder about someone who says they admire Chinese Communism and he and his family are buddies with Communist Castro
