keeping your ONEWAY opinion to a minimum, this issue is very deep..

Alberta really needs to work on doing without the OIL so much, threatening Canada isn't constructive.   Having only ONE TRICK has its down falls.

They used to brag about being an 'HAVE PROVINCE' and now crying about it :dunno:  5 mjllion people should be easy to take care of :dunno:

Now they threaten BC to cut them off supply of crude, how fucked is that :dunno:

Threaten Quebec

Do what we say or else -

Ontario is also a 'HAVE PROVINCE' so I don't see how UNFAIR for oil resourced Provinces

Quebec has been taking forever but does have near 20% of the GDP

Do you honestly think one Province can dictate what all the others will accept and do?

He repeated his threat that unless Ottawa does more to help Alberta build pipelines to expand its oil markets, he will hold a referendum in which Albertans would vote on whether to delete Section 36 of the constitution, which sets out the principles of equalization. Such a referendum would have no legal effect.

Equalization is the system of wealth re-distribution in Canada that provides have-not provinces cash so that public services across the country are roughly equal. In 2019, Quebec received $13.1 billion under the formula, representing 11 per cent of its revenues. Alberta receives nothing.

In his speech, Legault repeated that he intends to create enough wealth to close the gap with the rest of the country so that Quebec no longer requires such transfers, but that the process would take time.

Legault later told reporters that equalization was “part of the original deal” when Quebec became part of Canada.

For the record, while transfer payments do indeed date back to confederation when Ottawa sent money to the provinces, the actual equalization payment program was not created until 1957 and entrenched in the 1982 constitution.

It is really sad in this country that people would still even consider him suitable for office or to run for re-election.

He should be in jail.

Yes but Tards are Tards, they love giving everything away and being afraid of offending anyone.....they are sheep.  Mark my words, we are witnessing the down fall of western society,  in 40 - 50 years from now the system will totally collapse.  History always repeats itself....we are on the way, thanks to Tards

At this point many people are all for Quebec separating.

Lets hold a CANADA wide referendum!

Quebec and Its wonder boy Justin Trudeau would be kicked to the curb!

Thats why Quebec no longer talks about it.   They know they would be standing alone.

always got a kick out of the frogs and their tantrums. if they seperate, there would be hardly anything left for them. the indians with their land titles would stay in canada. (amongst other crap that would fuck them so bad, they would be begging to come back).  but, yes a referendum on kicking them out? hahahahaha.

Should stop by and ask the guy if he can make you one for your truck Irv flip him a $100 :)

A few days ago was the first time I was able to grab a pic. Normally he/she has a decent size CDN flag posted in the back and is backed in the driveway. Everytime I drive by his/her place he/she is either gone or inside. I'd actually like to talk to him or her as I'm sure we would be on the same page. :bc:

OTTAWA -- Liberals went trolling Thursday for young, progressive-minded voters with 14-year-old video footage of Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer speaking out against same-sex marriage -- a tactic that prompted Jagmeet Singh to vow that New Democrats won't prop up a minority Conservative government.

The "disgusting prejudice" against gay, lesbian and transgendered Canadians exhibited in the video is "exactly why, if Canadians deliver a minority government in October, I will not prop up Andrew Scheer and the Conservatives," the NDP leader said in a statement.

"We can't trust Mr. Scheer or his caucus to champion the fundamental rights of Canadians."

Singh's statement came several hours after Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale tweeted a short, edited video of an April 2005 speech Scheer gave in the House of Commons explaining his opposition to the Civil Marriage Act, which legalized same-sex marriage in Canada later that year.

Along with the video came a challenge to march in Sunday's Ottawa Pride parade, with Goodale noting that Scheer has never yet participated in any Pride parade.H

n reality, it's no surprise that Canada not only made the list, but also ranked #1. In case you were wondering what other countries made the top 20 list for 2019, here you go:

  1. Canada
  2. Sweden
  3. Denmark
  4. Norway
  5. Switzerland
  6. Finland
  7. Australia
  8. Netherlands
  9. New Zealand
  10. Germany
  11. Belgium
  12. UK
  13. Japan
  14. Luxembourg
  15. Ireland
  16. France
  17. USA
  18. Singapore
  19. Portugal
  20. China

When it comes to ranking #1 place in competitions, Canada is no stranger to taking the gold.

We've always ranked very well in many different categories, but there's nothing like being the best at something to really make Canadians feel proud of their country.

And what could be more brag-worthy than ranking #1 in terms of Quality of Life?!

TL;DR Canada has ranked #1 on U.S. News top 20 "Countries With the Best Quality of Life." More details and complete list of countries below.
