So bigger track lugs = more distance traveled per driveshaft rotation. You have to be completely fucking retarded to not know this. Do I need to take out the cartoon?

 

If you don't know that bigger track lugs DO affect how much the sled travels, kys

Correct!

The rub is that the increased travel will negatively impact the ability of the motor to stay in the power range, with all other gearing and clutching specs being equal compared to a lower lug height.  Hence why deeper lugged tracks require lower gearing and usually aren’t as fast.  You should get a check too!

Wrong Frankie. A taller lugged track will not move the vehicle further with every driveshaft rotation compared to a short lugged track. 

As has been posted a million times. The Drive axle diameter affects the distance traveled. The lug height and track length does not.  The drive axle is like the tire. The track is like the road.

So does a longer track also act like a larger wheel of a car? 

Say we have a sled with a 121” track and a sled with a 174” track. Both tracks are 1” lugs. Everything else between the sleds is identical, clutching, gearing, everything. Which sled moves further with one full rotation of the secondary clutch?  

This is super simple.
