Ontario Lodging Database

Up to the show & got all but 1 of the latest maps (missing D1 as they only had 2016 maps) & will start going thru them to update the database. If anyone can confirm the status of any of the listed businesses the help would be greatly appreciated. I'll post when the online info has been updated.

Below is a list of lodgings that I can't determine if they are open or not. If you can update me via a post or PM, it would be greatly appreciated.

 

Also while doing Google searches for these places, I'm getting hits for them in listings on other snowmobile websites. Only the database in my link is being updated on a regular basis.

The 1st update of the season for the online lodging databasehas been done. I'm currently working on updating the GPS data for a lot of the businesses. Google Earth can be helpful or WAYYYY off when it comes to where it has marked the locations of some businesses. If you know of any changes of lodging that you're familiar w/, please let me know via PM. Also, if you notice that an accommodation is marked "trail access?" and confirm or deny trail access, that would be appreciated.

I took the long road home from Port Perry Tuesday as I had some GPS waypoints I wanted to verify.

 

There appears to be a "lodging" type building on the E side of 35 north of the Shaow Lake Rd (#53). No signage in the image on Google Streetview back in '12 & none now. I don't have a waypoint for it. Was it ever a motel?

 

I have a "LODGING" waypoint from someone that corresponds to Camp Gayventure on the S side of Kash'. I stopped on CR 18 & there were signs for Williams Landing & Private Road, not too inviting

 

On the northside of Kash' there were SOLD signs up @ Wild Moose Conference Centre & Spa/Wigamog. No lights on the place.

 

Just down the road there's construction @ a place Silver Beach. Looks like a condo development from the 'net.

 

Then a little bit further is Haliburton Heights. Looks like motel units. I don't have a listing or waypoint for this business. Is it new or another business renamed? 

 

If anyone familiar w/ the area, feel free to chime in. I haven't been over on the highways 46 & 48 area in years. I couldn't believe that my brother & I were that well behaved on the way to & from Kushog when we took that route sometimes. From Port to Coboconk seemed to take forever.

The 'establishment' in Val Gagne across from the Ford dealership on Hwy' 11 is closed & up for sale.

Working my way thru the maps I picked up @ the T.O. show. For the 1st time in a few years I was able to pick up all of the districts' maps. I'll post when the online database has been updated.

I've gotten a couple of PMs about the mileage listing. Unfortunately, I'm not maintaining that info anymore.

 

Two reasons for this, I'm busy enough w/ the lodging listings & the GPS POI file that I posted earlier in the season. Secondly, I had used the previous ITG & felt it's mileage calculator was suitable for my needs.
