Aged Cheddar

So im looking to try some 10 year aged cheddar from a place in Wisconsin.

Ive never had it this old before. is it really strong? Has anyone had some aged this much?

I sell it when I can get it and I would say its good but make your portions smaller. If you like sharp cheddar you will like it.

I love sharp cheddar

Some of its delicious and some is horrendous. It can defiantly be an acquired taste.

I love sharp cheddar

I like sharp too but, the extra sharp, long years aged wasn’t my thing.  The texture was crumbly and the bite was a bit too harsh.  I think it is best over some form of dish.  IMO, the best sharp is aged about a year/1.5.  I like to slice it and eat it by itself.

Believe it or not, I think one of the best sharp cheddars out there is Cracker Barrel brand.  But, I’m no refined connoisseur.

cracker barrel is the worst IMO

Ive had 2 year stuff and its OK but doesn't have great bite.

Like I said, I’m not connoisseur.  I like it though...I don’t like a lot of “tang” in my cheese.
