Vehicles in the U.S.A. are at the oldest age

I can tell car sales are down. The marketing attempts are getting more desperate. Some pretty good deals right now.

When a fairly standard truck is over 50 thousand the deals are going to have to get a lot better 🙄

I find it interesting at the "quality" being on of the reasons.  What about the simple fact that the automobile itself is getting older as an invention or the fact that new cars are expensive and people don't want to pay that much.

Key Points
  • Prices for full-size pickups have increased from an industry average of $32,557 in 2010 to $44,181 in 2018, according to J.D. Power.
  • That rose, again, to $45,260 for the first five months of 2019.
  • Chevy is just rolling out an all-new version of its heavy-duty Silverado with the new High Country trim package that could become the first U.S. pickup to top $100,000.

Amen to that shit.  $56K for a new 1500 Z71?  LOL!!!  OR, wait a year or two and get it with 25k on the odo for $30k. No brainer

”Oh, but the easy monthly payment and low interest terms offered through the dealer!!”  Fuck that noize!!!

I got about $2k left on my F150, I’m keeping it. Fuck payments

spot on,  wifes got a lease now and it drives me nuts.  in the 27 years i've been out of school i have had loans for only 5-6 years.  first boss taught me to pay it off and pay myself so the next one can be paid in cash

I sort of wish I had kept my ‘11 but it had too many little problems.

But they aren’t daily drivers.  How many miles did you put on your beemer last year.

For two years one of my bmws was a daily driver. It performed flawlessly. I wouldn’t have any reservations using any of my previously owned bmws as dd. I think one of the reasons some people have issues with German cars is neglect. They simply don’t maintain them. They allow small things to add up. My old 135 had 440whp with a time and larger inter cooler. I maintained it well and it never let me down. I still kick myself for selling it. It was my all time favorite car. All machine and no casino.

All my German vehicles have had anvil like dependability.

Are you high?  there are plenty of German vehicles that should not be owned outside of the factory bumper to bumper warranty. Now the Koreans is another story.

I've got 321K kms (mostly hwy) on a 2015 Kia Forte. It's  had one set of brakes, 2nd set of tires plus the snow tires, one set of plugs and infrequent oil changes. I never followed any of the maintenance shit on it that they recommend and as long as it lasts two more months I'll be happy. It was a cheap commuter car and when it's done it's going to the boneyard

Is that why they are ranked higher in reliability than any Korean maker and 7th overall by JD power? Is that why my 190k BMW runs like new and every single things works on it?

Sorry about your bad luck with German vehicles. Mine have been great. Maybe you have a maintenance issue? Lack of.
