Arctic cat dissolve their factory race team and dept?

Recommended Posts

I haven’t heard anything more than them losing a pro lite guy to Judnick motorsports to race pro.

I’ll ask around a bit today.  If they shut down their racing program, it’s all over....and I’m back on a Doo!!!

A friend of mine's brother (Colt Dellandrea) switched last year from Cat and he was a Cat guy for years. I heard grumblings from his brother that Cat was no longer committed like they were previously, hence the switch.

He did great this year on his Doo, although he was no slouch on his Cat.

I’m surprised any of the mfg are still fielding teams. The glory days are long gone.

The Cat Cross  Country Sleds are production sleds if I’m not mistaken.

Sleds are a bit different vs. car racing like nascar.  The race sleds are much closer to our production machines.  We have seen quite a few innovations from the race programs make it to the consumers fairly quickly.

It would be difficult to find many items in the car racing world that would be remotely close to the consumer version.  The early days of automobiles were similar to what we currently see with snowmobiles.

It is sad to see them exit the racing support.  Less competition will lead to less innovation at the consumer level.  I also agree that producing boring consumer sleds has little benefit from a race program.  That race program money will probably be shifted to marketing.  Sell the hell out of a boring product.

Not with the right lug height application to tweak the final drive ratio.  It’s all about the lugs.

Much of my SX sled is a dupe of my procross.  Chassis and bracing is almost identical.  But, we already knew that.

LOL.  Get it stuck, hop off, grab back end with one hand and move it.

You mean lift the whole sled up by the handlebars (one handed) and set it down to the side.

Yes they were, imagine if they were an aluminum chassis with a 1 1/4" track.

That's what I always thought and that's why I'm doing a lightweight Phazer project this summer lol. Stripped down, newer suspension and 1 1/4" track. This thing is gonna rip 🤣

Nice build.  I hope some day to build a 250 or 340 single in a old TX or Indy lite chassis.
