Ontario Clubs

Every year I am sure varying clubs have had to deal with trail closures, rerouted etc. Land is sold, new owners don't want the trail or current owners are fed up with those who don't stay on the trail. The one guarantee is every year there will be challenges somewhere

Trail closures are going to happen in many places

That's not good to hear! Not trying to piss anybody off, but there was not much grooming last season, gas burned, or equipment repairs? Hopefully, most clubs should have some funds left over from last season???

It's not a matter of money. It is a matter of land owners either changing and the new ones not wanting a trail on their property or the current land owner revoking permission for the trail on their property. I can guarantee that some of the trail closure challenges faced by some of the clubs are "self inflicted" by snowmobilers who can't be bothered to respect the wishes of the private property owners and ignore signs like stay on trail. Some will be thanks to Wynnebag and Bill 100 causing a degree of uncertainty for some land owners who will err on the side of caution to protect their property rights.

We've lost on farm this year due to dirt bikers using the field to gain access to the neighbouring gravel pit. This was a newer section of trail too that got us off a highway, for now it looks like we're back on the side of the highway like before. On a positive note, the same landowner did not kick us off his other farm.
