My X5 had big bushings. Both needed replacement. I was just going to press new bushings in but the whole arms arent too much more and then you get new bushings , arms and ball joints. It makes sense to replace the whole thing

I did my 328 in a vice.

My X5 had big bushings. Both needed replacement. Replacing just the bushings may be ok on a 328 driven modestly. M cars are subject to higher cornering forces and subsequent ball joint wear. If the ball joint seems tight then perhaps. Personally I’d replace the entire arm, because if the bushings are gone the ball joints aren’t far behind. Some of that has to do with how long that you plan on keeping the car. I’m assuming that Ben wants the M5 tonstick around awhile.

The M’s are miles apart from the standard bmw in chassis rigidity.

I don,t think they come in 2 tone grey from the factory, only on the passenger side, as an option. Without a doubt, that car has seen some re-paint. It has been repainted on the passenger side. Either the front half, or the back half. Cann,t you see the difference in paint color ? Edited May 21, 2019 by Frostynuts
