Some can pay more in taxes this year vs. last but ACCORDING TO THE CALCULATOR PRESENTED there definitely something off here. When I put in $110K income with same deductions that person paid $400 more in taxes this year. Looks like at certain income levels in NY state the closer you get to half your income in itemized deductions the chances are you may pay more in taxes.
