No mention of curtailing waste , funny how that works

It’s the same shit in Connecticut. First it was the gas tax, then it was the lottery, and it was the casinos, then it was the income tax. Then we had several increases in the gas tax and income tax which were supposed to all help fix the roads.  Then they spent $500 million on a bus way to nowhere, that barely gets used.  Now they’re talking about bringing back tolls. To fix the roads. The electorate as such short memories

You think you guys have it bad.  Our new Wisconsin governor Evers(D) wants to raise the gas tax, then he wants to keep the DMV open longer so that more illegal immigrants can get driver's licenses.  FFS, using the money to repair roads is one thing, but to use it so that the DMV can stay open longer to give illegals DL's, unbelievable.

Regular passenger cars put very little wear and tear on the roads. If anything, diesel taxes should go up.

You are correct, but it really doesn't matter what is causing it.  The money collected by the DOT more than covers the expenses.  The simple fact that the politicians keep robbing that fund and then convince people that there is no money in the fund is bullshit.

You mean those big mean trucks that bring 70-80 percent of goods to us should be taxed more....yeah...that won't be passed on.

It doesn't matter.  It's all a government money grab made possible by the emotional "cup game".  Sure...everyone wants better roads, let's tax gas and tell them we;re gonna improve the roads!!!  Percentage that actually benefit the roads?  20-30%  The rest gets lost in the budgets somewhere.

Retard here is pushing for another 20 cents a gallon tax....also, fully renewable energy using wind and solar to prevent global warming.

If people wouldn't buy $5 coffees every day, maybe they could afford higher gas taxes...

Or we keep our 5 dollar coffees and use the money they have already taken from us.

gas taxes are the most fair way to pay for roads and bridges.  Big increase on diesel as the big rigs destroy the roads more.  they will have to fee the EV and hybrid users to make up for the fact they are not paying their fair share.

Certainly government should save money and reduce taxes in other places but fuel tax has been the backbone of the infrasructure system for decades.

Correct.  Why is it fair to use that money for something other than roads and bridges?

Should that money be used for more and longer DMV hours in order for undocumented immigrants to get driver's licenses?

People who are in the United States illegally would be allowed to obtain a Wisconsin driver's license or ID card under a plan proposed by Gov. Tony Evers.

Gov. Tony Evers is ordering state transportation officials to come up with a plan to expand hours at Division of Motor Vehicle offices so people can have an easier time acquiring driver’s licenses and identification cards for voting.

Evers issued an executive order Monday telling the Department of Transportation to deliver the plan by the end of the year. According to the order, the plan may include keeping DMV offices open on weekends and evenings and building new offices accessible by public transit.

Interesting how voting is also involved.  I have said this many times, there is an agenda for voter fraud to happen.

I feel like I should point out that Michigan has been run exclusively by Republicans for the last 8 years.

I don't think robbing the voters is exclusive to a party
