"Amazon and other major retailers have been entering into contracts to make use of the Postal Services infrastructure.  They receive discounted rates for the volume of business and for helping streamline the process (such as by presorting mail).  Raising prices on these retailers, as the President suggests, would encourage them to find other methods of delivering their packages or encourage them to turn to other providers.  As Andrew Harrer writing for CNBC put it:"

USPS package delivery service remains profitable with competitive rates. The problem with the postal service is due to legacy costs NOT from giving away services to amazon .No package delivery contract that the service has entered into loses the service money. This is a trump lie.

Another finely tuned US government run show!  Still using formulas from 2006 to evaluate costs?  :lmao:

Yep, people are going to jail for sure here!!!!!  This is illegal!!!

Just started partnering with a company that analyzes shipping, packaging and energy costs for mostly eCommerce, direct to consumer companies. The money some of these companies spend is staggering. There a some tricks and fuckery the shipper use to gaff the companies that this company has uncovered. Our role is to audit their process and negotiate new contracts. Some of the savings are in the 40-60% range. We take a share of the savings. Some of these guys are spending $60-100 mm annually. Pretty excited to work with them.
