More PC bs. This by repugs.

MADISON, Wis. - A pair of Republican state senators are pushing to remove the phrase "mental retardation" from state administrative code.

Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald and state Rep. John Jagler announced Tuesday that they'll introduce legislation to remove the term "mental retardation" and all its derivatives from code and replace it with the phrase "intellectual disability."

The bill mirrors legislation former Gov. Scott Walker signed in 2012 that removed "mental retardation" from state statute and replaced it with "intellectual disability."

Jagler's daughter has Down syndrome. He says in a news release that he knows how hurtful what he calls the "R-word" can be. Fitzgerald says people with intellectual disabilities and their loved ones find the "R-word" incredibly offensive.

How is this PC bullshit? You got to be kidding me. It’s just the right thing to do. This isn’t a micro aggression or safe space PC reference, it is removing the equivalent of the N word for African Americans from state documents and procedures. Sweet fuck you old white men are the biggest whiny bitches in the world.

Thread title: More PC bs.

racer: I mean I don’t care. Just enough to find, quote, create a thread, and post it...

LOL.  Changing words does nothing....in 50 years, "intellectual disability" will mean the same thing to all people, just like "mental retardation" does now.   I just find it funny that this is something that needs to be on the minds of our elected officials.

Whatever you change it to will be used in a derogatory way.

For example, BoyRider is special needs and snot is differently abled

My point exactly.  FFS why can't everyone understand this.  From now on I will make sure I us "id" instead of mental retardation.

Meh...that's fine with me.  Remove it from the "state administrative code".  That way, nobody can use the term "retard" anymore.

So nigger shouldn't have been removed from the public lexicon because now African American is used the same way and is offensive and an insult?
