Sledding Winter 19

Cheers Rich!

Ha nope. That's his boy. Greg is sitting on his Sidewinder but it looks like he is sitting on my Cat. After the 500km Saturday to WaWa Matt's doo blew a chain case bearing halfway to Hearst on Sunday. The 6205 bogey wheel bearing  I had in  the bottom of my saddle bag was a fit for the doo chain case ( I know WTF right?)  Matt pulled the shaft, beat/smashed the old bearing out trailside, some proper chain lube purchased in Hornepayne and into Hearst by dark. Should have seen the look on the  faces of the group of negative Nellies who stopped to watch the  trailside repairs for a bit,  when we ALL pulled into bar in Hearst. Only a true sledder could even begin to understand this as one great fucking story that we will laugh about for a long time!

Had a great ride yesterday, trails and weather was perfect. We unloaded in DeepRiver and plan was to take the A Trail to Matawa for lunch and then back taking some of the Missing Link loops.

We were on the trails at 8:30 under partly cloudy and trails were hard as rock. If you didn’t have scratchers you would be in trouble. It didn’t take long for it to be pure sun and the trails softened up nicely.

A little beach visit in Stonecliffe.

Climbed a couple of Hydro line shouts.

Sun setting close to being back in Deep River.

A great trail, as to be one of the best is the 197 loop, fast and long sweepers. Great day, almost done for the season two more rides planned for the season.

Its a good trail side repair story! Many sleds that chain side bearing is only a 6205 with one seal pulled out, so its lubed by the chain case oil.. try some maintenance next time! :D
