Did you miss the part where I said I don't blame them?

So they get a raise. A yr later they only have the same purchasing power as they had before raise and wage increase inflation. Now employers costs have gone up so he raises his rates. Great even right? Wrong , when his payroll went up so didn't his SS, unemployment and workmans comp.

Not a problem. Ill just raise prices some more. Now my gross sales have gone up . That's good right? Well maybe. Maybe not . Employers chunk has stayed the same but now his liability insurance costs increase as that is based on gross sales.

No problem. Ill just raise prices some more. Untill customers start telling me to fuck off as they really don't need the luxury I sell.

Thats like saying nobody should get a raise.. Ever. It just doesnt make sense. Inflation goes up. The cost of business goes up. And you think someone's pay should not?

Some do deserve it. A min wage is meant for teenagers. If some people cant grasp that concept and decide to have a family on a teenagers job wage , shame on them.

It really is and a good kick in the ass to make something of yourself or else.

Google "multiplier effect".

The fact that you don't even know about it means you're unqualified to speak with any authority at all on economics.

I don't do any of that shit myself.  The question is, should the cost for that service be based on the market demand or Moto's retard world of a % of your net worth?

If minimum wage jobs we're just for teenagers, why are those businesses open during school hours?

Most people working them are not working for min wage , or are willing to work for chump change . Fast food jobs have such a high turnover that if one is there more then a yr they should be at least an assistant manager.

They also have the choice of lumping brick or lumber for much more money while earning a trade. They chose not to.

Peoples pay should go up as they become more productive and worth more to the employer. I tell my guys " you want a raise , then sell ore. The money has to come from the customer. I am not going to make less so that you can make more, aint gonna happen"

Right, because a shit economy and shit jobs are the fault of the individual forced to toil under capitalism, not the people who run the system.

Do you cut your own grass or pay someone?  How much do you pay for that service?  Should that pay be dynamic based on how much someone is worth?

Should a maid at a hotel's pay reflect how much the hotel chain is worth?  Just trying to follow your retardness.

Except that isnt how it works in the world. Most businesses have cost of living increases. This is the exact problem with the minimum wage. Everything else has gone up and they are stuck in the past. Why would someone want to go get a job when in some cases its going to cost them more money just to get to the job? You wonder why more people are on welfare and food stamps well there you go. If an economy cant support itself then it isnt really built on anything but debt anyway and isnt worth a shit.

My employees get a raise every yr. They also learn more every yr. And lets face it , most COLA's are under 3%. You don't truly believe someone on welfare is going to get a job because they can now earn $9.50 instead of $7.35 do you?

No, you are a fucking idiot.  Go spend a few million in a new business and then give the keys to new hires, let me know how that works out for you?

Go find NeverNeverLand, perhaps you'll find answers there.

Well we are establishing the minimum here. I dont know what is so hard to understand.

I think if there is an incentive for them to go work yes i do. Right now there isnt much incentive. Those low paying retailers have crazy high turnover.

Of course they do . Most min wage workers don't stay min wage for long. They either move up the chain or bolt for better opurtunities elsewhere.

That is totally incorrect. Alot of retailers dont pay shit and the upward potential is also shit. Hence all of the retards working there.

My mom is an admin for one and they are paying shit and arent offering shit. The turn over rates are obsurd. They constantly have a employee pool of 100 people for one store and they are constantly hiring. But bean counters make those rules. If it were me I'd offer more money and attract a higher quality employee and keep them around.

Capitalist Economy: *Runs almost entirely on the combined demand from wages and credit/debt*

Supposedly capitalist Dads lecturing the poors: "Workers don't deserve better wages and they shouldn't borrow money they can't pay back..."

So many arguments on the extremes.  Give the employees the whole business vs pay people nothing. Everyone always has to think it’s extremes.

Claiming minimum wage is only for teenagers is fine. Then legislate a different wage for teens and adults.

Of course the turnover rates are absurd. Any with a brain bolt for better opurtunities. Just as you and I did when we were young and inexperienced.

I don't have a problem with that.

Its not like we are talking about a lot of people.

n 2017, 80.4 million workers age 16 and older in the United States were paid at hourly rates, representing 58.3 percent of all wage and salary workers. Among those paid by the hour, 542,000 workers earned exactly the prevailing federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour. About 1.3 million had wages below the federal minimum. Together, these 1.8 million workers with wages at or below the federal minimum made up 2.3 percent of all hourly paid workers.
