Gold Member BOHICA Posted October 16, 2018 Gold Member Share Posted October 16, 2018 (edited) They need food despite tariffs. Soybean prices rise well over 2 percent today. Brazil is shutting down their soybean domestic industry as they ran out of soybeans to use. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-10-15/two-ships-with-u-s-soybeans-head-to-china-as-trade-war-lingers Edited October 16, 2018 by BOHICA

Platinum Contributing Member Highmark Posted October 16, 2018 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted October 16, 2018 (edited) Too bad we couldn't charge them double. Lots of beans in my area coming in at 70 bu/acre. At $9.00 that's $630 per acre. Considering ave input costs for beans runs in the $430 per acre I'd say they are doing just fucking fine. Why you think so many bean acres were planted this year. Edited October 16, 2018 by Highmark

Neal What's your input cost on beans? According to SDSU the average in SD is around $170-$300 per acre. If beans are around $9/bu you would only have to produce about 19 bu/acre to BE. http://igrow.org/agronomy/profit-tips/cost-of-production-for-south-dakota-corn-soybeans-and-wheat-during-2018/ https://www.sdstate.edu/files/2018-crop-budgets Edited October 16, 2018 by Highmark

Lease all the equipment, rent all the land, and pay the co-op/elevator to do everything else.
