So what should the city do?

Now we have regular shootings even in broad daylight.

My opinion stop idolizing the gang culture in City venues like ACC.

Bring back carding and street checks.

Bring back school officer program for this fall.

To quote my doctor when he was signing my FAC renewal back in the 90s' "We wouldn't need this if they hadn't let in all those Jamaicans". I just about fell out of my chair. He never even cracked jokes or was one for small talk. To hear him say something like this was a bigtime shock.

Imo 25 year minimum sentence for possession of restricted and/or prohibited firearm would help.

you would think so but it doesn't do anything really except switch to knifes

Look at the Death States, they have some of the highest murder rates

Take the money out of crime is the only way

Ya, but at least with knives, bystanders are way less likely to be hurt.

Its an escalation and has nothing to do with cop totals - gang wars are bad and always have been.

RAP community is bad today

They need to find leaders in the gangs willing  to stop the violence

Not totals, but what they can do.

CP24 was talking to a chap w/ the surname Goodluck. Hard to understand his English, but I think he was suggesting more police presence would help curb the shootings.

Driftwood - worked that area for awhile it was bad 20 years ago.

Blacksmith

Sounds about right.

It all boils down to, "It's Whitey's fault!" I'm surprised Desmond Cole & Selwyn Pieters haven't commented on the 'black on black' violence, but that wouldn't fit their narrative.

Don't you know that minimum mandatory sentences don't work?

I remember seeing a police van in Cleveland back in 2000 w/ this on the side:

1+1=5

I was puzzled until I got closer & could see this:

1 gun + 1 crime = 5 years

The Doctor was right and that was the start of it. Jane and Finch.

Sad but true and it will only get worse.

Horvath freaking out over Minister's visit to Jane & Finch wear he wore a police issue bullet proof vest.

School trustee for the area says the Minister's comments reinforce the negative opinion people across the province have of the area. Because of this, student suffer emotionally.

The Minister is taking an unfair beating - his choice of wording  he used could use some work but he was only trying to do good.

Not a racist comment, just poorly said

careful how you speak as an official

Put her money where her mouth is & go visit the area unescorted.

She'd be the type of person that would park their car south of 8 Mile in Detroit & then whine when it got stolen.
