Speed limits - what gives?

Probably based on 1960s car tech where cars routinely managed .35 lateral g's on the skidpad

Exactly, we don’t all drive on 75 aspect ratio bias ply tires anymore.  Not to mention how fast some of us are able to blast down a sled trail with no as-built drawings.
