Honestly what the guy was saying in the interview I've seen reported a number of times. The Director of DHS said the same thing in the press conference. If they come asking for asylum they are kept together. If they cross ILLEGALLY they are temporarily separated until it can be determined if they really are family and until the parents go in front of a judge to answer for the crime of illegal entrance. This is zero difference what would happen if a American citizen got caught shop lifting or any other misdemeanor or minor felony. If no place for the kids they go to govt custody until they can be reunited. Probably happens thousands of times a day in the US. If you want to argue we shouldn't charge the parents with any crime its one thing. But to say its wrong to determine if these groups really do have a family relationship or are involved in human trafficking is nuts. Enforcing a LAW that has been on the books since 1952 but never enforced. Proponents are careful not to say it's a deterrent but it is. Trump calls these central American Country gangs animals, dems say he is wrong they are people yet wants to let ANYONE in fleeing from their violence.
