So Eric the Rat Hoskins has bailed from the sinking ship.

Where will Wynne apoint him?

I would say to lead the new public support worker company the Liberals are starting.

Sounds like JT is giving him a job @ the trough looking into a national pharmacare system. The going gets tough (the upcoming election) & all of a sudden a cushy gov't job appears.

JT should be relieved of all duties as he is unfit.

Eric Hoskins is the last person who should be recieving a plum government position.  He has destroyed Ontario Healthcare.  Doctors are on the warpath. And Hoskins is given a plum position to thank Wynne for her support getting JT elected.

Ask a doctor what they think of him. Have the LIHNs ever cured anyone of anything? Just another layer of bureaucracy sucking up taxpayer money.

  how much would you like the PC party to give to Doctors? no limits

If Canada can go national with a drug plan for all, this would be great

You do know Eric is a Doctor :dunno:

Yeah... he's hoping his pot can become a free prescription for him. He'll be looking for a mechanic doctor that works out of his basement to give him a prescription. Only I don't think even a fly by night doctor would prescribe enough to meet his regular use levels.

you're the one that made the statement.... not me... now show us you didn't dream it up like every other number you ever spout....

the financial analysts say it's not likely to happen any time soon due to the cost

that won't stop Trudope from having his pipe dreams though... he rarely thinks anything through or the consequences associated with them.... especially financial.

AC posted the article but unlike you I read it

Pharmaceuticals cost Canadians an estimated $28.5 billion in 2015, according to a recent federal report. Most of that was covered under public insurance plans — $13.1 billion — and $10.7 billion under private insurance, but individual Canadians still shouldered a $4.7 billion burden.

Last year, the federal Parliamentary Budget Office estimated a national pharmacare program would cost the federal government $19.3 billion if implemented in 2015-16, rising to $22.6 billion in 2020-21.

But Canadians out-of-pocket spending on pharmaceuticals would decrease by an average of 90 per cent, the budget watchdog found, and the overall spending on drugs would decrease by $4 billion a year.

and the source of the article is....

pay attention Fail... it would cost taxpayers $22.6B

You should know that government estimates are never accurate.... look at what the numbers were for E-Health. That $22.6B estimate is likely to be $45B. What was the gun registry supposed to cost vs actually cost.

For the government to take on a $22.6B expense isn't saving $4B when you actually look at the real cost which government is piss poor at doing

That $4B overall spending decrease would be comprised of the overhead associated with the insurance companies that pay for the prescriptions now. Let's start to look at the real costs. So now you have all those insurance companies with less revenue and less taxable income at the corporate rate. Federal and provincial tax revenues would take a significant hit. Something tells me that isn't part of the sunny ways vision. Then there would be all those people employed by the insurance companies that are suddenly unemployed. How many thousands of those do you think there would be that would now be collecting EI and perhaps welfare after that. Then all the spin off economic impacts. Those unemployed aren't spending money, the empty office space, the reduced earnings for the insurance companies so they up the premiums elsewhere to maintain ROI.

Then of course there will be the one that will make you really happy. The inflated over paid under worked inept bureaucracy that will need to be built by the federal government to administer all of this.

Hey if  you want to fight for seniors to have no coverage because you think it socialism handouts then do so.......

Insurance companies  don't all of a sudden go broke and lay off everyone, that is something you made up.   When government contracts switch insurance companies does that company die off?  no they don't

The money saved on med insurance plans for private and public would be quite a bit of cash.

A federally mandated program would lessen the provinces funding for meds

In the long run people would be healthier and better off - something you despise

But you fight against bennies against pensions all the things you actually have and take   laughable

Stop being so stupid Fail. I'm beginning to feel sorry for you. $10.7B by your own numbers is covered by private insurance. You can't be that much of an idiot to think that if the federal government starts paying for everybody's prescriptions that all those people working for those private insurance companies that sell and administer those private policies won't suddenly be unemployed can you.

Those private insurance companies aren't like government where they can just have those people sitting around doing nothing.

So more stupidity from you... instead of the province paying for medication the burden switches from the provincial to the federal level. How do you think that is going to save money. It comes out of one tax funded pocket instead of the other tax funded pocket.

Wrong yet still. What I object to is the government stealing more and more from those who work hard and are successful to give it to those who are unmotivated and choose to live off of handouts. Someone down on their luck and in need of some assistance is far different from some of the multi-generational welfare families and the other freeloading burdens on society.

I also object to people like you who collect a government pay cheque and don't actually work for it. Instead spend their day posting online.
