Let's not forget that US has two key military bases in Turkey, and that Turkey is a member of NATO. A conflict between Israel and Turkey would really put the US in weird position. There is plenty I don't like about Israel but make no mistake they would be the first in line to defend the US. Claim whatever reason you want they would have our backs no matter what.
