Hinchcliffe is out....feel bad for him and his owner Sam Schmidt.

That sucks :(

How did Danica do?

She made the fast nine and gets to run for the pole tomorrow.

I also didn't realize that they requalify 10-33 tomorrow as well.

That's a shame Hinchcliffe didn't make it. Maybe more power.

Beginning in 2021, INDYCAR engines will produce more power due to a new configuration, the sanctioning body announced today.

The 2.4-liter, twin-turbocharged V-6 engines are projected to generate at least 100 more horsepower than the current 2.2-liter platform, with more than 900 horsepower achieved in the 2.4-liter formula when using push-to-pass overtake activation.

Providing stability for the Verizon IndyCar Series and its competitors, the engine regulations will be in place for six years, through the 2026 season. INDYCAR has utilized the 2.2-liter, turbocharged V-6 formula since 2012, with exclusive use of twin turbos since 2014.

Engines will continue to turn at a maximum of 12,000 RPM.

On-track testing will begin in the summer of 2020.

Indy is obviously a tough place...I was watching in  1995 and they mentioned it yesterday when Team Penske didn’t qualify any cars.

Danica went out first and laid down 4 great laps.

So is she a better Indy car driver than a Nascar driver or is she in better equipment or is Indy car just that much easier to drive?

Her average starting position in Nascar was like 25th.

Ed Carpenter always has fast cars at Indy as evidenced by 3 of them in the top 9 but IMO she is a better Indycar driver overall. From what I can tell qualifying at Indy is more about car setup than anything else...if the car is balanced the driver can flatfoot the accelerator for 4 laps although there are some in car adjustments that he or she can make as the tires start to degrade.

Because its a different style of driving. Indycars stick to the track if set up properly.

Nascars have to be finessed through the corners due to the lack of grip.

Kinda what I am implying above. Its more car than driver.

Qualifying yes.. race somewhat and it really applies at Indy...not so much at road courses.
