What's the better turbo

Volume is volume.  1100 while benefiting from more years of tuners cranking them up can make huge power.

Full mod: 1100

Trailability at "near" stock levels: 998

1100 is way more durable.

1100 is easier to mod

1100 cost less to mod

998 sound 1000000000000 times better

Again pretty broad specifics.

There are a ton of low dollar 1100's with extensive, trailable mods.   Because of this its cheaper to own but not really cheaper to mod.

Personally I like the sound of the triple much better.

Ease of mod is relatively the same with stock internals.

Durability I would say is pretty equal knowing what we know right now.  Both seem to handle up to around 280-300 HP without doing much to the existing engine.   Maybe a slight nod to the 998 because I'm not sure I would go that high on the 1100 without aftermarket head studs.

I got an 2011 Z1T that I run DD stuff at around 270-290 and a 18 Winder that I run Hurricane 290 kit on.   They are virtually a dead heat up to 1000' with rider weight being equal.

Right now you can buy good, fairly low mileage boosted z1's under $6000.   Not much more for boosted 1100 procross versions.   I would think boosted Tcats or Winders would be another $5-7 grand.  Those two new with flasher/studs/clutching/exhaust will run you upwards of $15-$18 grand.   There will be some really good deals on leftover Sidewinders coming.  My dealer has 17's still on the floor.  With the mods listed above expect to spend about $2 grand.
