Chief Wahoo will no longer be officially used as the Indians' logo. Although merchandise will still be available in their gift shop with items bearing the aboriginal favourite for some reason. Wonder what they'll do if 60,000 fans insist on doing the Tomahawk Chop at games .... charge them all with a hate crime? Sounds like the Washington Redskins haven't met the same fate yet... Watch out Poncho, I've heard rumours about people bitching that the "Predators" should be renamed. Maybe Nashville Niceguys would be less offensive. revrnd Posted January 30, 2018 Share Posted January 30, 2018 Several years ago I read an article about the US newspaper The Oregonian, announcing that going forward they would no longer be referring to the NHL team in Vancouver as the Canucks. They felt it was offensive to Canadians. WTF? I wonder how long the Eskies will be the name in Edmonton? Lots of whining about it last year, mainly from the mayor of Winterpeg.
