So this problem just started with the exh spring change solenoid delete? Swap back ??? Low idle=low voltage. Has your fuel sock been cleaned recently?

I haven't changed the sick in the tank (if it has one) but I have changed the fuel filter that sits on the side of the airbox before. Maybe 1000 kms on it.

The solenoid holds the valves closed for longer. Theoretically that should have not changed anything at idle.

  3. Today I changed out the exhaust valve springs and did the exhaust valve solenoid delete. I pulled my spark plugs and mag side is running rich and the PTO side is perfect. I put new plugs in as well.

When I fired it up, it is running like shit. I tried swapping the spark plug wires and no change. I pulled the new plugs out and the mag side plug has oil on it and there was/is smoke coming from the plug hole. Also at the low idle rpm, the voltage gauge on the dash is showing in the middle. It doesn't have a battery.

Anyone have an idea what is going on?

You know, the make gear that fits comfortably over dresses not.  I think Klim has patents.

J/K....yuh, fuck those temps.  I don't even think I have enough gear to even try it!

Are you referring to Arctic Cat pit coats? Lmao.

We still may get out but just around home in farmers fields and such just to say we did.

  5. We have decent snow here but it is -35°c / -31°f. So it is a little cold to be riding. It really sucks as my other half hasn't been out yet this year and she is on the tail end of a 4 day weekend and we have either been to busy or it has been to damn cold to ride lol. Hopefully next weekend we can get out.

  6. Got out for the first shake down ride of a whopping 15-20 kms around my home. Ditch banging, farm fields, frozen ponds/lakes.

I switched sleds as the wife is at work and I wanted to make sure they are both good lol. The joys of working 4/10's.

The Dragon seems to be running decent. It is definitely a rough ride. Could be that the shocks are set to stiff or poor set-up in general as I have never really set a sled up. 14 years of riding and I usually jack up the shocks (6'3"/220lbs) and send it. But I am getting old and not enjoying that as much as I used to lol. It still has no top end even though I am hitting 8150rpm.

The Crossfire is such a nice trail sled. It handles so well and it absolutely kills my dragon in the speed department. I am very pleased with it.

  7. Piston would suck but it would take me a couple of years to get anywhere near 2000 miles.

I used to have a 2010 600 dragon switchback and it was way nicer to drive because of the updated ergos. This 08 sucks in comparison.

I will get more information on it hopefully tomorrow. If it has really low kms, I might make the 2 hour drive to look at it.

With our current market in Alberta, my 08 would sell for $1000+ more than they are asking for the 2010.

  8. I currently have a 2008 dragon switchback 700. It has an aftermarket front bumper so it isn't the garbage factory plastic one and a 144"X2" track on it.

I came across what looks to be a really nice shape 2010 800 dragon switchback for a really good price.

With moving to the 2010, I would get the narrow front end and seating position but also the more "potentially" unreliable 800.

I was thinking about buying the 2010, swapping my track onto it and selling my 2008 700 for more money than I would be into the 2010 for.

Is it worth the hassle or just stay away from the 800?

  9. Ahahahahahaha. They/you blame call of duty eh. That entire franchise is based around rising to the "call of duty". It has literally zero to do with going into a school and shooting people.

The most negative part of call of duty would be the online play and that negative part only comes from other people on their mics talking like meat sticks.

Games like call of duty turn kids into killers as much as old John Wayne westerns.

If a person can't differentiate between a video game and real life, that's not the game's fault.

  10. Violence on tv has been around a very long time. Video Games are no different.

These issues are way more complex than some kid seeing violence on tv. Sounds like a lot of the issues stem from parents that made a lot of poor choices, like buy a 15 year old a gun and letting him walk out the door with it.

  11. I have a SB that has been stretched to a 144x2. It mainly sees 2000'ish elevation but will see one or two mountain rides a year. (Hopefully going to McBride just after Christmas).

I have been struggling to get it past 73mph. I have changed weights, springs, added fancy washers to the clutches to help but nothing seems to get it above 73mph. I have had the primary clutch at a shop to check it out and they didn't see anything out of the ordinary other than the old weights had worn into the clutch a little so they added some comet clutch weight washers to smooth out that area.

The sled currently has a 21t top and a 40t bottom gear. I have a set of 20t top and a 41t bottom gear lying around. Would swapping one or both of those gears help me out? Thanks.
