  1. I would machine the accelerator pump well in the Quadrajet carb body and then use the larger diameter pump cup from a big Rochester 2GC two-barrel , gave much more pump volume, really helped to eliminate the stumble when linking all 4 barrels.
  2. Fun car for sure. Even has the extra pedal.
  3. You may as well stay home- THIS old guy is canceling your vote.
  4. Just finished up a crankshaft rebuild on a John Deere / CCW / Kioritz 340 fanner. The guy might get one vintage ride in this year if we get some snow. Worst year ever for rideable snow in Michigan.
  5. Yeah he was a millwright. More than likely still working for Ford. Very knowledgeable car guy.
  6. Some kids stole the hood off my '70 Chevelle SS parked next to my garage in 1988. Did some detective work and found it behind a barn about a week later. Only think stolen in over 50 years here, just north of Flint.
  7. Just finished up a couple of crankshaft rebuilds on 1976 Mercury SNO-TWISTER Kohler 440 engines.
  8. Find myself doing that more and more and he's right.
  9. This old Ford was given to my son we're going to drag it to the shop and see what it's all about. Might just pull the motor detail it and use it for display in my shop.
  10. She'll still vote for Biden in the 2024 election...
  11. There's a Chick-fil-A being built in Flint at the busiest intersection in town, right next to I-75. Can't imagine what they had to pay for the location.Tore down an abandoned Sonic that couldn't make it.
  12. Rebuilt this 800 E-tec crank today. All new rods, bearings and a new mag end. Going to weld the pins but ran out of gas for the heliarc.
  13. Do you have a fire extinguisher in your house?
  14. Getting ready to rebuild this Yamaha YZ450F crankshaft. Part of a complete overhaul for a customer.
  15. Actually three or four teams raced the Mystery Engine in '63 with no factory support. Smokey Yunick, Rex White, Junior Johnson, Et al. Junior managed to win seven races. I'm building a period correct street driven replica of the Junior Johnson #3 car.
  16. Flint Engine South was built on the site of the original V-8 Engine Plant that opened in 1954. I guess we can call it the V-8 plant again after 20 years. I retired from the Metal Fabricating Plant right next door. The Flint Truck Assembly Plant is contiguous to both plants, which seems to me to be the ideal layout for GM to build trucks.
  17. Who is your crank guy? - I may know him.
  18. ZRTs have much better cranks than the 3 cylinder Skidoos. Bigger bearings with steel ball cages rather than phenolic , labyrinth non-contact seals rather than rubber and just a lot easier to work with than the Rotax cranks. Cat crank parts are expensive though, and have way less aftermarket support like rods and bearings than Rotax cranks. But neither Cat nor Rotax can hold a candle to Yamaha crank reliability. There, I said it.
  19. I've been to that one many times, never a bad experience.
  20. I thought it was about something completely different....
  21. All this knowledge we have and $2 should get us a cup of coffee just about anywhere.
  22. Yes and those type of exhaust manifolds tell me Chevelle chassis.
