Showing my age where the F*** is the windshields I ride the north and its cold I dont see trucks with sled trailers on flying down the highway with windshields missing why do you want to ride a sled with nothing at all?

    Polaris 850

Ya I have always had ultimate faith in the Fuji and was apprehensive when it was dropped hence my inquires on the 850 there has been some teething issues since the switch, but some of the engines have been rock solid another fella in the group who is mechanically absent drove his XC 700 like it was stolen for years and had little to no problems as i recall a stator once but it had a ton of miles on it and was a bit of a rat sled.Joe
  7. Never been in the Ganny in the winter always been on the hit list, many trips in the summer months great spot for a little ATVing although its too busy on the weekends anymore we generally would stage corner Sandaraska Rd and Porter jus off 115,the Chinese food place in Pontypool great place to eat or grab a sub at the deli next door nice area down there, the wife and I attended a car show a bit further down the 115 last summer behind/beside the petro can/ Timmys it was impressive some wild hardware on display.Joe

And yea Poncho oddly enough I have seen at least three Fusions in my travels this year still plunking along LOL,bi annual or so Quebec trip on deck at the moment general garage meeting today beverages and layin plans hope the weather stays decent and doesn't snow five feet and drop to 40 below.Joe

    Polaris 850

50th anniversary edition Poncho which was a to me good handling sled liked the chassis for its time, clutch and belt reliability was not good at all some suspension issues, engine worked OK till about the two thousand mile mark, not the best sled Ive owned but not the worse either, getting rid of it was a nightmare no dealer wanted to touch it or the offer was insulting so had numerous updates done and rode it out the next year sold it privately took a bath and moved on,meanwhile one of the other guys in the group had a Indy 650 with 18 k miles on it LOL.

LOL got ya well I have nothing against your choice of sleds and big twin 2 strokes are a great choice and getting popular again its another round and Iam glad to hear very little issues with all the brands for the most part, iam not done buying sleds yet so following the threads about the new big bore units out there is helpful in the next choice not having this option years ago it was a bit hit and miss when buying a new intro my choice in the winter of 04/05 when a 900 cc looked like the answer with the decal on the side Fusion left me weary of buying anything first year.Joe
  11. Been trying to get down and ride the forest for a couple years and get euchred for snow how much snow did you get down there.Joe

Not sure what you say sorry for Poncho all along I was just wanting to know how the sled was performing and your thoughts glad to hear that it has been flawless not always the case with new models regardless of manufacturers,i have been Guinea pigged more than once in my time of buying sleds from different brands.Joe
  13. A wise choice indeed wont argue that,1977 sat and watched as young Jerry Bunke at the Kawartha Cup took everyone to school man Polaris had their game faces on I will do some diggin I think i still have pics of the pit area unfortunately a ton of great era photos were lost to a fire a number of years back,I attended the cup most years and enjoyed the days of the high bank when that crazy frenchman Yvon tore ass around great times.
  14. Poncho i couldn't agree more too me there isn't a sentence long enough or severe enough for this P.O.S bitch, apparently the chair landed near a entrance to a condo complex,in my mind this is attempted murder she should be old and gray before she feels freedom again very appalling bring back public floggings. Joe
  15. The original primary was a Polaris knock off that flew apart and ate belts at a alarming rate till Bombardier gave a replacement square shaft, that was better till the Polar Fire CDI packed it in they were a decent sled but the ski leg posts were weak and sometimes would fold in.Joe
  16. Absolutely the best snomo commercial ever was the Moto Ski tearing it up in the summer down a rock strewn stream french man drivin the shit out of it and at the end,MOTO SKI built in La Pocatiere Quebec i thought that was the coolest ever.Joe
  17. Winter 13 Cochrane to Cochrane in February via Abitibi Canyon way too far fucking near died coldest weather February could produce never been back all that way north and didnt even see the jolly old bastard a trip that is etched in my memory forever i think about couple hundred miles plus or so in well below zero temps possibly a thousand miles it would have been epic but some body parts have never recovered.Generally we as a group run 150 to 225 a day when on a tour and the weather is good.Joe
  18. Some clarification needed on sled insurance, private property use only with a OFSC trail passing thru it owner of the property and offspring using the sled strictly on and within the limits of his own farm i understand that this machine would require to be registered but would it have to be insured and licensed to be legal would not the insurance that covers the farm be enough the users would be of minimum age to operate the machine.Joe
  19. Could you explain solid core,I thought all copper core plugs were solid other than resistor type which i was told had some sort of ceramic in the core between the top and tip and are the ev plugs solid?
  20. Good point I know a fella that chased a intermittent misfire for most of the winter swapped out CDI,s,disconnected about every switch on the sled went thru the carbs a couple times changed plug caps in the end for what ever reason he never gaped the plugs to the recommended setting so he did and it ran great he felt like a idiot and this guy was usually good at following spec.Joe
  21. We have had plenty of sleds in the family and still do bought the blister pack plugs at CTC many times never had issues that couldnt be tracked to something else(choke/needle&seat etc)they lasted just as well as any dealer bought plug of the same number and heat range so i would call B.S on them being different spec i wouldn't think NGK would want their name on them if they were if it was something like a CTC brand then I believe the spec could be different.Joe
  22. Gawd dam just informed one of my nephews has made a deal on a bloody powder sled,I tried to mentor this one from a boy into the sport and thought I had done a good job rode him around as a kid in front of me found him a clean Firecat couple years back now it looks as though I have added to the issue S.O.A.B well might just as well buy him a wrap for his birthday and a fuckin snow shovel backpack or perhaps a few hundred bucks to pay fines with, one saving grace has promised no tomato juice can exhaust, not much encouragement for me.Depressed Joe
  23. LOL Biggy did own a couple in the past no complaints other than 03 RX 1 with a boat load of miles on and it tended to use a bit of oil on one trip out of character for me I held it flat out across Tomiko lake stopped with the group for a break on the other side and the exhaust was literally beet red hot as viewed thru the rear screen and smoke was pouring out of the tailpipes the muffler itself was on fire inside likely greasy carbon the seat at the back was melting off,the guys got a laugh watching me like a dog digging snow and piling it on to keep the seat from catching fire little too hot.Joe
  24. Well i know i will regret sticking my toe in this pond but here goes, iam not that far off a main trail that sees a fair amount of traffic and unless I stand out in may backyard I never hear a thing and plenty of not stock mufflers go by truly to me the worst are the two strokes with the barely bigger than a soup can on them on and off the throttle totally annoying or straight pipes, the rest are not that noticeable and for the six to eight weeks a year when the windows are closed its hard to imagine why such a uproar in the media, also for the most part trails are in the bush and other remote areas.Spring summer and fall anytime I have sat on my brother in laws deck at his cottage we listen to thru hull exhausts, float planes, bass boats with enormous engines at full cry and jet skis going round and round like my dog chasing its tail, drones buzzing around, by far way more annoying for way longer periods or sitting in a outdoor cafe as piped motorcycles roar about I can certainly hear these inside a cottage or a house.I do not condone the use of aftermarket exhaust but seriously everybody jumps on the band wagon and gets others fired up about sleds and because they can actually do something about it such as close a trail it becomes enemy number one on social media and the Odots in the world have to respond, its the squeeky wheel thing when in this world today I would like law enforcement to have their time devoted to real every day public threats i want to be able to stand in line at a Tims without some lunatic loosing his shit and pulling a weapon over a wrong order,or some loser driving his vehicle into a crowd, wanna be terrorists,or the gumball rally drivers on the 400 series highways, I know this is getting far off topic but i think some discretion here on exhausts should be used not just lumping every one into the same bag most are not that bad at all and the drivers that are responsible dont go around pinching up the throttle in built up areas those that do well you get what you get ,discretion is all it takes and should be looked at by law enforcement is this guy acting like a asshole or a fella cruising down the trail, still all in all Jeez its six to eight weeks a year if we are lucky and in the winter when sittin outside feet up is not that enjoyable, down near one of my family members a section of trail was closed and rerouted for noise complaints the landowner spends December thru March in Florida???. Joe
  25. Anybody have any experience with this product,Iam looking for something like it to keep electronics toasty i talked to a few guys that do not recommend putting a bag in the area between the handlebars and speedo on a ZR that its needs that area open to relieve heat off of the engine bay but a tank bag would be ok other than having to remove it for fueling I could relocate the seat heater switch easily enough to keep my fat ass warm but need space enough for a GPS and cell phone as well as a cell booster and a pair of smoking gloves, any suggestions other than get rid of my Puddy Tat.Joe
