Great pictures guys. We had a family of Trumpeter Swans stop by the house yesterday. They interrupted my yard work. After about 2 hours I went back out, fired up the lawn mower and chain saw and continued with my chores. Didn't even seem to phase them. They wondered off right before dusk. These things are huge. +5' wingspan and over 30lbs. Old iphone takes super shitty pictures. I keep waiting for this thing to die but it just won't. I'm about 70' away here zoomed in to the max.

I took advantage of the weather and got the drone in the air at several locations today. No.....I didn't crash Most of the reds from the maples have already dropped, but it's still colorful.

Another interesting Iron Dog twist this year. They are starting the race in Fairbanks and racing back to Willow. The race will start out with several hundred miles of high speed river racing. Then at Koyuk, the race will go overland and race to Kotzebue and back to the Norton Sound before heading to Nome, the half way point. This little detour adds over 400 miles to the race. 400 miles of rough overland trails. And finally the teams will had south through Interior Alaska for the finish in Willow. The most difficult part of the race will be the last 2 days of racing. It will be a very interesting year for sure.

That is key right there. Any car/vehicle not being driven any real distances will have a shorter battery life than those that are driven lots and for some distances. I've been told, despite my wife's car being driven daily, that since her drive is rather short (20 km's a day in city traffic) that her battery life will be quite short. I've been advised to occasionally put it on a trickle charge/Battery Tender on weekends to help extend its life. I haven't done it yet as her battery is a beeatch to get at but I may do it soon before winter approaches.
