You can't mention Denzel without mentioning "Man on Fire". By far, one of my favorite movies and definitely my favorite Denzel movie. Give this a watch, you'll be glad you did, trust me.2 points

Seriously! I’m surprised she didn’t blame this on the “climate crises” and preach how Al Gore predicted this plane’s flawed system. Prolly start another separate thread about it. MC in yet another TDS rage starts a thread to try and blame, ummm....Trump? Turns out, it’s another government regulator money grab that doesn’t do their job....gets owned, BarbieHands comes in and doesn’t know what is going on, shoots his own face off. Another day in the FSCE!!!!1 point

Sorry about your dad Mark...I’ve had two good friends lose a parent to early onset dementia and it was absolutely horrible. Good post and he says his savings are about gone...the other thing is lack of facitlities able to handle these patients...scary shit.1 point

Sure, he is probably chewing through his retirement savings at a rate that will exhaust them in a very short period of time. We lost my dad to Alzheimer’s, fortunately my parents had long-term care insurance. It has become too expensive now and that whole category of insurance has become unaffordable. The better solution nowadays is to buy a variable universal life insurance policy with a long-term care rider, which leverages your coverage, and grows As long as you don’t use it. For example $100,000 policy can protect up to $750,000 of your assets, or pay $750,000 worth of nursing home bills if you let the coverage grow. If you never need it you get your hundred thousand dollars back, it’s a much better solution than the old way of paying 6-7-8 or $10,000 a year for ltc insurance or just stroking that 6500/ month bill1 point

Morning- 80 / 63 and overcast. Hot as hell yesterday and this morning. Guess you would call the weekend a perfect summer days. Brewers games, Brady Street days and the Air / Water show could not have asked for any better. I looked like a swam after cutting the lawns tho- Good Monday fellas.1 point

I dont consider 57 bad at all....its good in fact. I just cant imagine myself slaving away in heavy industry for 30 years. I'd love to quit at 49 and that's my goal. If I dont do well enough managing my retirement money I'll have to go to 55. I'll never be broke....I'll have a pension and SS and whatever I save. Reality is when I retire I'll probably just end up working part time for myself anyways. Ill be a master electrician in 5 more years so I'll just start a shop and work as I see fit.1 point

I work till I'm 57. I hardly consider that to be 'working stiff' category. Not a single of my 4 older brothers will be retired. I will retire 10 years earlier than my father.I will have worked long enough to retire debt free and basically not get too bent out of shape about money. I applaud your determination and foresight, just don't lose the forest for the trees.1 point
