I can't really feel sorry for the driver. Yes he will never forgive himself, but I mean come on, there were 4 kids struck at the same time. How did he not see them!

the trucks bonb through our residential area pretty good. How the fuck can you stop one of those on time if a kid runs out in front of one, even at 25 km/h?

He struck 4 kids, on a left hand turn, they were crossing the street coming home from school.

Mayor Ford...
“This afternoon, I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn that three children were struck, one fatally, by a city garbage truck,” Ford stated. “It’s with a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences to the victims during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers, and I’m sure those of every parent in Toronto, are with the children, their families and friends.
I don't think any media is jumping for joy it's a city worker.
Nice try....

Yup, my close friend was involved in an incident where a passenger of his vehicle died in his arms.
He's struggled with it immensly.

I would assume he was driving from the right side so he may have never saw them starting to cross. He struck 4 kids, on a left hand turn, they were crossing the street coming home from school.

My friend lives in the co-op where the kids live/lived and the buzz last night was that he didn't stop and was speeding, but all heresay and probably from a vigilante mob

People need to just slow down in residential areas especially when kids are out from school. Its not just the garbage truck drivers.
Also, we don't know the whole story ie who had the right of way etc.
